1.1 Function
The primary functions of Chint NB1-63 MCB are as follows:
- Protection of circuits against short-circuit currents.
- Protection of circuits against overload currents.
- Control of electrical circuits through switching.
- Providing isolation when required.
It's important to note that NB1-63 circuit-breakers find applications not only in domestic installations but also in commercial and industrial electrical distribution systems.
1.2 Selection
When selecting a circuit-breaker, consider the following factors:
- Technical data of the network at the specific point of installation, including the short-circuit current, which should always be less than the breaking capacity of the device.
- The network's normal voltage.
There are different tripping curves available for circuit-breakers, each designed for specific purposes:
-
B curve (3-5In): Suitable for the protection of people and long cable lengths in TN and IT systems.
-
C curve (5-10In): Ideal for protecting resistive and inductive loads with low inrush current.
-
D curve (10-14In): Designed for the protection of circuits supplying loads with high inrush current during circuit closing, such as LV/LV transformers and breakdown lamps.
