Installation Instructions for Possum Guard

1. Prepare the Possum Guard
Carefully remove the specialised plastic sleeve, known as the possum guard, from its packaging.

2. Position the Possum Guard
Wrap the possum guard securely around the cable that requires protection. Ensure the sleeve fully covers the section where possums are most likely to climb.

3. Secure the Ends
Fasten both ends of the possum guard using cable ties. Ensure the ties are tightened sufficiently to prevent any movement or slippage of the sleeve along the cable.

4. Verify the Installation
Inspect the installation to confirm that the possum guard is loosely fitted around the cable while remaining securely fastened at the ends. The sleeve should rotate freely, creating a smooth, slippery surface that prevents possums from gaining a foothold.

Important Note:

The Possum Guards are approved on various utility networks, though not on the Energex network. Therefore, in this scenario, the electrician cannot install either the PPG or PPG2 on any part of the Energex grid.
